Mr. Kim Soo-il, appointed as the new Secretary-General of TPO
Mr. Kim Soo-il, the former ambassador of Korea to Democratic Rep. of Timor Lest, as the new Secretary-General of Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities took office on 3 December 2018.
TPO is an international organization composed of over 130 city governments and non-government entities in the Asia Pacific region. The organization was established in 2002 with the blessing of the 5th Asian-Pacific City Summit in Fukuoka, Japan, for the purpose of developing the tourism industry and achieving common prosperity through the promotion of mutual cooperation, exchanges between and among cities in the Asia Pacific region. The Secretariat is located in Busan, Korea.
Mr. Kim served as the Dean of Graduate School of Business Administration at Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS), Chairman of Sub-Committee at the State Affairs Advisory Council of Korea, Member of the Presidential Northeast Asia Committee, Head of 2002 Busan Asian Paralympic Village, Honorary Consul of Indonesia in Busan, Korea, Ambassador of Korea to Democratic Rep. of Timor Leste, Chief Advisor for Minister of Forest, Republic of Korea, and Chair-Professor of Daeshin University.
